Since I’ve been back in the ant farm, I’ve done almost nothing but chase birds photographically. And, unlike ten or so years ago when one could find any number of confiding birds willing to have their little countenances recorded, nowadays “chase” is the operative word.
There have been some afternoons I’ve been out in 100F+ heat index weather for three hours and didn’t press the shutter button. It’s not worth it at my age, and I’m burned out. Fortunately, circumstances appear to be such that I’ll be spending some time outside the ant farm, and I’m looking forward to shooting short, something that’s damn near impossible to do in this overcrowded postage stamp.
Also, there may be a time in the near future when this site goes offline for a few days or a week or whatever. I’ll be back; I’m just changing web hosts.
Curves in the road keep things interesting, especially if they lead to a good stretch of open highway!
